‘What’s Cooking?’ is an application that helps suggest what one should cook. Most of us find ourselves in the age-old, classic dilemma: what to cook for dinner. We waste significant time wondering and going back and forth on various menu options. We find ourselves consulting our spouses, friends and significant others. That usually does not solve the problem, if it does not further complicate it. This application helps make that decision. With a simple shake, the application suggests what to cook.
The application depicts a virtual menu where the user gets to choose their dish based on what their taste buds yearn. From the main screen, select “Pick a Dish” option, choose main course and specify cuisine (ex: Chinese, Asian, Italian, etc) or ingredient (Chicken, Beef, Potatoes, etc). Then, simply shake or tap the phone. The application picks the dish you should make for the main course. A list of appetizers and desserts are presented to help you make it a complete meal.

Initially, the user has to populate the application with some of their favorite meals. This includes specifying the appetizer, main course and dessert. Each main course needs to be associated with at least one ingredient (chicken, …) and one cuisine (Chinese…). Of course the list of meals (menu) may be edited at any time by the user by adding, modifying or deleting dishes using the “View All Dishes” option.
This application is a must-have for everyone who wants to spend more time cooking and less time deciding what to cook.
